KeepItSafe was started in 2003 in a dorm room at Trinity College in Dublin. Founders Eoin Blacklock and Jonathan Crowe realized the data backup and recovery industry was dominated by inefficient tape backups and cloud providers with poor customer service.

With a mission to ease the burden of backing up for their customers, KeepItSafe was founded with a fully managed and monitored approach — where customer data is proactively protected by real people, 24/7, who are able to restore lost or corrupted data at a moment’s notice.

Parent company j2 Global^® was actually first a KeepItSafe customer. The company was so impressed with KeepItSafe’s approach, technology and customer service, that in 2010 j2 acquired KeepItSafe — to offer a fully managed and monitored recovery solution on a global scale.
